This is the view from the front door. On the left is a branch of the old Japanese maple, when this photo was taken the leaves were not yet out. At the top of the photo you can see the 2x2 slats that I added last year to the existing 2x6 framework to cut down on the amount of direct sun coming into the atrium. We are very pleased with their effect and feel they harmonize nicely with the beams.
